As the new year begins here at Rakestraw Books, we must begin by thanking all of you who chose to shop here during the holiday season. By choosing to shop locally, you sent a powerful message of support that all of us here at the bookshop appreciate more than we can say. Thank you!
The weeks ahead are busy ones for us at the bookshop: we're taking inventory, ordering lots of great new books, and launching the Winter Season of author visits. We are also working on the long-anticipated migration to a new commerce version of our website which will allow us to sell not only print books, but also e-books to read on your iPad, iPhone, Nook, Sony E-Reader, desktop or laptop computer. We're excited about this change and thrilled to be learning how we can continue to be part of your reading life in this brave new digital age.
The author visits over the next few weeks are pretty special. Fans of the Grateful Dead will want not want to miss rock historian Paul Grushkin. Royal watchers and lovers of history must join us for Sally Bedell Smith in conversation with Leah Garchik. Lovers of literature should check Edmund White and Amy Franklin-Willis.
