Dinner with Mark Kurlanksy

Historian and bestselling food writer Mark Kurlansky visits on Thursday, 17 May 2018 at 7 PM to share his new book, Milk: A 10,000 Year Food Fracas. Profoundly intertwined with human civilization, milk has a compelling and a surprisingly global story to tell, and historian Mark Kurlansky is the perfect person to tell it. Tracing the liquid's diverse history from antiquity to the present, he details its curious and crucial role in cultural evolution, religion, nutrition, politics, and economics. To celebrate this special event, we will be serving a special milk-based dinner. Tickets are $40/person. Tickets may be purchased by calling the shop at (925) 837-7337.
