Summer Newbery Book Group meets the second Thursday afternoon for the months of June, July, and August 2022. The novels selected for this group are past Newbery Medal winners. Founded in 1922, the John Newbery Medal is awarded to “the author of the most distinguished contribution to American literature for children” SOURCE. This group is recommended for children ages 10-13.

This group’s next meeting is on Thursday, 9 June at 4PM to discuss Wolf Hollow by Lauren Wolk, awarded the Newbery in 2016.

We will be meeting on Thursday, 14 July at 4PM to discuss The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman, awarded the Newbery in 2009.

The last meeting will take place on Thursday, 11 August at 4PM to discuss When You Reach Me by Rebecca Stead, awarded the Newbery in 2010.
